There is a kind of nervous energy and a kind of self-image management between walking fast without an apparent reason that is broadcasting urgency, confidence, or discomfort.
When It’s Anxiety or Stress
Rapid pacing is usually an indicator of anxiety, racing thoughts or stress, particularly when it is accompanied by shallow breathing, clenching or inner restlessness. It may be a material release of unspent stress or a flood.
When It’s “Main Character Energy”
Other individuals stride at high speed to appear bold, purposeful, or in control, the space is theirs, they are moving with a purpose or they are acting like a main character. Pace in this case is more of mindset rather than anxiety.
When to Pay Attention
In case the fast pace is forced, tiresome, or accompanied by panic, it might require mindfulness, breath work, or professional assistance. When it is empowering and controlled then it is probably just personality in action.
